Our Firearm instruction services are Meant to prepare you and your loved ones should you ever need to do what is necessary to protect them. our instructors are certified through the UScca and not only provide basic safety/marksmanship knowledge but also what to be prepared for in the aftermath of a self defense situation. we ensure that our courses will give you the knowledge, ability, and confidence to handle violent confrontations or a self defense incident.

Our courses follow the uscca cirriculum and guidelines in order to provide you with the knowledge and resources to protect yourself and your loved ones. The course covers the basic principles of firearm safety, marksmanship fundamentals, and the legal use of force.
The cirriculum provided will focus not only on physical protection but also, legal, financial, and moral protection needed for a self-defense incident.

During the classroom portion of our concealed carry courses you can expect to handle firearms, that have been made clear and safe by the instructor, so that you can understand the way that they function.
You should also come prepared to complete a live fire qualification, the qualification is used to measure your proficiency in both safe handling of a loaded firearm as well as marksmanship/accuracy.

■ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

right now our basic concealed carry courses cost $50 per student. This will include a range fee as well as the hourly rate for the instructor(s) time to teach the course and run the qualification range.
at this time this course is only valid for iowa concealed carry. we are working at this time to provide multi-state certification

Our conceal carry courses follow the USCCA curriculum and guidelines. This information not only includes the basic knowledge to safely operate a firearm and how to properly defend yourself. It also includes a closer look into the potential battles you may face after you have done what is necessary to defend yourself.

While we encourage students to bring their personal firearm in order to train how they would fight, it is not required. We at A.P.A. understand you may be acquiring your certification in order to purchase your first handgun and have acquired rental firearms of “popular“ conceal carry models to use for the live-fire portion.
Note: we have a limited supply of rentals so your qualification may take longer than anticipated if multiple students require the rentals.

We recommend that you bring a notebook and pen to take notes on information that is important to you. We also encourage students to bring ear and eye protection for the live fire portion. we also understand that anyone can forget and will be willing to provide ear and eye protection should you misplace your own

The live fire portion will consist of a total of 50 rounds and be at ranges of 1, 3, 5, and 7 yards. This is meant to measure your proficiency in safe weapons handling, and marksmanship/accuracy. depending on your results we may encourage you to come improve your skills at one of our marksmanship fundamentals courses
